Our Climate Targets

We take responsibility for the climate impact of our work. That is why bitside has set science-based climate targets — in line with the Paris Agreement's goal of limiting global warming to 1.5 °C.

Our near-term targets were reviewed and validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in January 2026. SBTi ID: 40024829.

Our Validated Targets

Three concrete commitments — with a fixed base year, a clear target year and measurable reductions.

Scope 1 · Direct emissions

−42%

Reduction by 2030

We are reducing our absolute scope 1 emissions by 42% by 2030 from a 2024 base year.

Scope 2 · Purchased energy

0

Zero emissions through 2030

We commit to maintaining zero scope 2 emissions through 2030.

Scope 3 · Value chain

Measure & reduce

From a 2024 base year

We measure our scope 3 emissions from a 2024 base year and reduce them continuously.

“bitside GmbH commits to reduce absolute scope 1 emissions 42% by 2030 from a 2024 base year. Our company also commits to maintain zero scope 2 emissions through 2030, and to measure and reduce its scope 3 emissions from a 2024 base year.”

About the Science Based Targets initiative

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is an international organisation established as a partnership between CDP, the UN Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI) and WWF. It defines science-based standards for corporate climate targets and assesses whether the targets companies set are consistent with climate science.

Near-term targets are concrete emission reduction targets for the next five to ten years. Validation by the SBTi ensures that these targets follow independently assessed, scientific criteria rather than self-defined benchmarks.

Our entry is publicly available in the SBTi Target Dashboard (SBTi ID: 40024829).
